Oak Steakhouse Charlotte
- 10:30AM-2:30PM, 5PM-9PM
From the first day they opened we fell in love with the restaurant and the staff. Susan and Justin the Managers are extremely warm and personable. The food is amazing. The only thing better is the Carft cocktails whipped up by our two favorite fabulous bartenders, Greg is outstanding and has become more than a bartender , he is now our friend. He is always in good SPIRITS . Stephen is also very professional and knows his way around the bar. We highly recommend Oak for Food, Fun, and friendship. Give them a try.

Weve been making our way through the steakhouses in Charlotte, and here are our observations: 1. This place smelled like leather. 2. The chairs were super comfortable. 3. They know how to do seafood too. I wasnt in a meat-eating mood, so I started with the octopus. I got my picky friend to try it, and even she liked, suction cups and all 4. The service was on point. Because I decided to challenge the red meat status quo and order salmon lettuce wraps and scallops as my entree, the server had a little maneuvering to do to get me both of my plates. I didnt really think anything of it until I heard everyone gasp and look in my general direction. I turned around to see the soy glaze from my salmon wraps splattered on the window at the precisely the same moment I realized the same soy glaze was oozing down my hair, through my dress, and sticking to all parts of my undergarments. The manager had warm water and washcloths for me to wipe off in the bathroom (thanks to the girlfriend who dove right in, lifting up my dress to survey the damage), and he offered to pay for my dry cleaning (a wool coat got some of the glaze too - based on the amount we cleaned off and was still left on me, I think it was a 20 oz portion). There was nothing to do but laugh about it, but I give Oak props for comping my husband and Is meal, as well as the entrees of my two girlfriends who were caught in the crossfire. It was a nice gesture but didnt change what was decided the moment they tried their steaks... 5. The vocal ones universally agreed these were the best steaks theyd had so far (sorry, Capital Grille, Del Friscos, BLT, Mortons, and the rest). Its rare to have such a great meal AND great service (unintentional soy bath aside). Highly recommend!!
We went last night for a friend's birthday, and the food, drinks and atmosphere all deserve 5 stars. The service, however, was awful. Our server, while well-meaning, seemed very new and inexperienced. The service was so incredibly slow, that we were "held" there for over three hours and missed our evening plans at 11pm (We got there at 8:15). We waited over an hour for food after we ordered and waited another hour just to get dessert menus. We asked if they do anything special for birthdays, and the hostess and our waiter told us of course, don't worry about it! It's silly, but you can't say you offer something for birthdays and then charge is $9 for a piece of cake. Our waiter had a very hard time splitting the check, and this took another half hour of waiting. Overall, I would come back if I had 3 or 4 hours to spend waiting around.
We dined here during the queens feast week. It was divine. The steak was seared perfectly. The only blemish was the salad dressing but they went above and beyond replacing it with a citrus vinaigrette. It was wonderful. The restaurant is listed as a casual dining but it seemed very elegant and was surprisingly quiet. The service was first rate and I never felt like I was waiting around for anything. It seemed like there was always ten servers rushing around to fill empty glasses or clear plates. When I finished the salad, someone immediately cleared the empty dishes and replaced our flatware. Would have no problems recommending this place for someone celebrating a special occasion.
Aged ribeye and the Colorado rack of lamb were not only cooked perfectly, the flavors were incredible. Great service, we were well attended to, will be back again.
