Visitors and groups planning their trips to Charlotte have even more options to explore thanks to a new product Visit Charlotte has recently announced. The new Experiential Tourism program encompasses more than 30 regional attractions that have produced 65 customized experiences.
Themes encompass arts and culture, food and spirits, history and heritage, racing and adventure, and tours. The “Taste of the Mint” at the Mint Museum Uptown samples pairings at Halcyon and e2 Emeril’s Eatery and then journeys to explore exhibits like F.O.O.D. (Food, Objects, Objectives, Design) facilitated by a Mint expert. “Raptor Keeper for a Day” at the Carolina Raptor Center gives participants the opportunity to work alongside staff to conserve 25 different species of birds of prey on-site. And “Behind the Curtain” with Blumenthal Performing Arts teaches Broadway buffs the inner workings of their favorite stage shows.
The new assets were developed to meet the rising demand of what travelers are looking for; hands-on, memorable activities that connect them to a region’s heritage, culture and character. While some participants had programming in place, others have created brand new activities to include in Visit Charlotte’s platform. Each brings a unique perspective that collectively showcases the diversity and appeal the region holds as a visitor destination.
Ideal for groups, students, team-building, girlfriend or guy getaways, spousal tours or simply visitors looking to enrich their itineraries, each hands-on activity is an authentic, exclusive experience they wouldn’t be able to get at home.
