CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 28, 2014) – Just off the heels of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the Guinness International Champions Cup brings dozens of soccer stars stateside for 10 days of tournament play. European soccer giants Liverpool FC (the Reds) and AC Milan (the Rossoneri, or “the red and blacks”) will go head-to-head in Match 12 of the Champions Cup at the newly renovated Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Here’s your guide to ‘experience greatness’ all week long when a different kind of football comes to the Queen City.
LFC Soccer School at the State Line Complex (July 28 – Aug. 1)
Liverpool FC is offering a five-day soccer school at the State Line Complex in Fort Mill for boys and girls ages 5-16 years old from July 28 – Aug. 1. Using the Liverpool coaching philosophy and practice programs, young soccer players get to experience and learn the “Liverpool Way” under the direction of Liverpool coaches. Participants will complete courses and skill challenges that cover key aspects of the game such as passing and dribbling the ball. Each participant also gets an individual player feedback form, training ball, player bag, medal and a certificate signed by a Liverpool legend.
Liverpool FC vs. Manchester City Watch Party at Rooftop 210 (Wednesday, July 30 | 5 p.m.)
Catch a glimpse of Liverpool’s talent on the big screens at Rooftop 210 as they take on Manchester City at Yankees Stadium in Bronx, New York. The Liverpool FC vs. Manchester City Watch Party is sure to get you pumped up and ready for the weekend game against AC Milan. The Watch Party will also include giveaways and drink specials throughout the night.
Alive After Five at the EpiCentre (Thursday, July 31 | 5 p.m.)
The EpiCentre is the official Liverpool FC Fan Headquarters during the Champions Cup weekend. Alive After Five kicks off the EpiCentre’s three-day Liverpool FC extravaganza with live music from Beatles cover band Abbey Road Live on the Courtyard Stage beginning at 5 p.m. and the ultimate Michael Jackson tribute band Who’s Bad at the Bud Light Stage at Rooftop 210 beginning at 8 p.m. Alive After Five, the city’s largest free happy hour, will also include giveaways and drink specials throughout the night.
Liverpool Team Members Autograph/Photo Session at Whisky River (Friday, Aug. 1 | 1:30-2:30 p.m.)
Team members from the Liverpool FC will participate in a public meet and greet, Q&A, and autograph/photo session at Whisky River on Friday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Space will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Liverpool Football Club Fan Central: Liverpool Legends Night at Rooftop 210 (Friday, Aug. 1 | Doors open at 7 p.m.)
Head out to Rooftop 210 on Friday night for Liverpool Football Club Fan Central: Living Legends Night hosted by local TV personality and Liverpool-born Jon Wilson of WCCB’s Wilson’s World. The night’s festivities will include a 45-minute Q&A with Liverpool legends Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler, live music, giveaways and a chance to win tickets to the match.
Guinness Champions Cup Bar Crawl at the EpiCentre (Aug. 2 | 12-6 p.m.)
Kick into high gear before the game at the Guinness Champions Cup Bar Crawl at the EpiCentre. Tickets include a commemorative t-shirt, a chance to win giveaways including tickets to the match and free cover with Guinness specials at participating bars. Participating locations include BlackFinn Ameripub, Whisky River, StrikeCity, Vida Vida, Rooftop 210, Vida Mexican Kitchen y Cantina, Suite and Bubble. Registration begins at noon at Rooftop 210. L.F.C. Liverpool vs. AC Milan Tailgate Party at The Doghouse (Saturday, Aug. 2 | Begins at 12 p.m.)
Join fellow soccer fans at the free L.F.C. Liverpool vs. AC Milan Tailgate Party at The Doghouse at the corner of Mint and Morehead streets near Bank of America Stadium. The Doghouse will roll up its doors for the public to enjoy a variety of food vendors, a full bar, giveaways including the chance to win tickets to the match and more.
Liverpool Fan Fest at the EpiCentre (Saturday, Aug. 2 | 2-5 p.m.)
Start your Champions Cup game day experience off right by rallying for the Reds at Liverpool Fan Fest at the EpiCentre. The free family-friendly Fan Fest will feature carnival games, prizes, a DJ and more.
