Eat & Drink
Anatolia Cafe & Cuisine
Neighborhood: University City
This family-owned Mediterranean cafe brings the flavors of Turkey, Greece and beyond through coffee, tea, pastries and savory dishes. Menu highlights include borek plates, kabobs, doner and Turkish flatbreads. Stick around for a Turkish tea or latte, too.
Burtons Grill & Bar
Area: Huntersville
The third Charlotte-area Burtons is open near Birkdale Village. The restaurant is known for its versatile menu for paying special attention to gluten intolerances and allergies. This particular location offers lunch, dinner and weekend brunch and includes an expansive patio and private dining options.
Clark’s Snack Bar
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
The original owner of former local favorite Good Wurst Company has opened a new restaurant in the original space. Dive into a menu of sausages, sandwiches, burgers, fries and tots. Egg sandwiches are served all day, every day, and you can order from a full breakfast menu on the weekends.
Dom’s Dive Bar
Neighborhood: Lower South End
A new dive bar, which quietly opened in March, is serving up beer, cocktails, coffee, bar food and even weekend breakfast burritos. The bar will always have sports on and will be a hub for soccer games, just like its sister concepts, Valhalla Pub and Courtyard Hooligans.
La Bonbonniere Bakery
Neighborhood: Uptown
Cookie lovers can now order these decadent desserts in person thanks to owner Valentina Lopez’s new storefront, located in front of Mimosa Grill. The menu of cookies, brownies and other treats tends to rotate daily, so check Instagram for the latest information. Goodies are also available online for order (pick up or shipping).
Mezzo Market
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
This new restaurant-market offers salads, sandwiches, pizzas and small plates in addition to a selection of high-quality groceries and take-home items. Guests are also welcome to hang out for their caffeine fix or stick around for a cocktail or two.
Ms. DiDi’s Caribbean Kitchen
Area: East Charlotte
A popular food truck, Ms. DiDi’s now operates as a restaurant that serves flavorful Caribbean staples. The business is owned and operated by Edith Jean-Francois, along with her husband and their three children who are running it with her. You’ll still find the food truck out and about at local events.
Seaboy Restaurant & Bar
Area: Cornelius
Chef Jonny Cox has opened his own restaurant, serving dishes like octopus, grouper cheeks, seafood paella and lamb ragu while focusing on community and sustainability. The space only holds 10 tables, so reservations are recommended. Otherwise, walk-ins are welcome at the bar and on the patio.
Sorellina Pasta Co.
Neighborhood: Villa Heights
Put on a gourmet meal in the comfort of your own home with groceries from this new market on The Plaza. Options include freshly made pasta, sauces, focaccia bread and wine. Sorellina hopes to offer weekday lunch in the future.
The Imperial Treasure
Neighborhood: Ballantyne
Get your fill of dumplings and dim sum at this Chinese restaurant’s second location. The menu also features Beijing roasted duck, which requires a two-hour pre-order, plus vegetarian options, stir fry dishes, soups, fried rice and lunch specials.
Things to Do
Queen & Cotton
Neighborhood: NoDa
Browse through Charlotte-inspired attire at this new storefront in NoDa. The husband-and-wife team have been in operation since 2021, selling their apparel at markets and online, but now you’ll find them at their shop.
