Harper’s Café
Area: Pineville
Missing those Chicken Supremes from Harper’s? You can find them alongside other classics and new menu items at the restaurant group’s café in Pineville, open weekdays for breakfast and lunch. The family-owned venture also serves as the commissary kitchen for Holden Sasser’s food truck, Union BBQ.
Flame Bistro & Bar
Area: Pineville
Get a taste of Chinese cuisine with other Asian inspiration at this new, locally owned restaurant. Favorites include the golden crab and brie wonton crisps, creamy fruit shrimp and crispy-skin roast duck. You’ll find familiar rice and noodle dishes on the menu, too.
Medusa Lounge
Neighborhood: NoDa
There’s a hot new lounge serving small plates and craft cocktails. Medusa Lounge also offers flavored hookah and accepts reservations via direct message on Instagram.
Oh My Ganache
Area: Camp North End
Once only available at pop-ups, these cheesecakes now have a home in the Mount District at Camp North End. Pick your cheesecake of choice and get it topped with various sauces, crumbles and whips. Don’t forget the peach cobbler bread pudding!
Painted Rooster
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
The owner of Moo & Brew has opened a new “chicken and beer joint” in Plaza Midwood. On the menu, guests will find chicken wings, loaded fries, mac and cheese and other indulgent dishes. With plenty of indoor seating and a dog-friendly patio, this will be a fun place to hang out all summer long.
Paul Metto’s Boathouse Bar
Area: South Charlotte
Taking the family to Carowinds this summer? Make sure you fit in a visit to the new adults-only swim-up bar, located at Carolina Harbor Waterpark. With a giant pool, shaded lounge chairs, luxury cabanas and a cocktail menu, this is sure to be a great place to cool off.
Paris Baguette
Area: South Charlotte
A worldwide chain has made its way to Charlotte thanks to local owners Steve and Mia Kim. The bakery offers sweet and savory options, from cakes and pies to croissants and baguettes. But that’s not all – breakfast options, sandwiches, teas and coffees complete this expansive menu.
Salted Melon Market & Eatery
Neighborhood: SouthPark
This popular local eatery now has a third home thanks to the newest location in Phillips Place. Peruse the menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, bowls and wraps, then order at the counter and take a seat. Or order online for a quick grab-and-go option.
Seemingly Overzealous
Neighborhood: Dilworth
The local dessert shop serving dairy-, gluten-, egg-free ice cream is quickly expanding, with a third location now open. Seemingly Overzealous offers 12 rotating flavors, with favorites like brown sugar cinnamon and cookies and cream. Don’t skip the waffle cones that are house-made and also allergy-friendly.
Super Chix
Neighborhood: SouthPark
Fill up on fried chicken sandwiches and tenders at the city’s second Super Chix location. The menu features fresh, never-frozen chicken options plus hand-cut French fries and frozen custard. A visit to the sauce bar is a must!
Sweetgreen
Area: Huntersville
Craving something healthy? A new Sweetgreen is open at Birkdale Village. Grab your favorite salad or bowl, like the kale Caesar, Harvest Bowl or miso glazed salmon, and enjoy the open-air seating.
Techno Café
Area: Rock Hill, S.C.

The People’s Market
Neighborhood: Myers Park
Over a year in the making, the newest People’s Market is open! The menu truly features something for everyone, from sandwiches and vegan options to pizza and smashburgers. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner and find something to love.
Yafo Kitchen
Neighborhood: Ballantyne
This local fast-casual Mediterranean concept has expanded to south Charlotte with a fourth location now open in Ballantyne. Build your own bowl or salad or choose from menu favorites, like the Israeli Hot Chicken Sandwich or stuffed avocado. If you’re feeding a crowd, the family pack to-go options are a great.

Ballantyne Village has a new pilates studio, owned by Mike and Kim Libretto (yes, of Libretto’s Pizza), known for group or private reformer classes and a signature “Sculpt” class. Soon, the studio will offer a deep stretch class, sound bath class and studio rental options.
Wicks & Whiskers
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
Have a double dose of fun at this new candle-making spot. While your custom candle cools, you can play with foster kittens, brought to you by Killer Kitties Rescue. If you fall in love with one, adoption is an option!
