Food & Drink
Biscuitville
Area: Concord
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 5 a.m.-2 p.m.; Sunday, 6 a.m.-2 p.m.
The popular biscuit chain from North Carolina now operates its third Charlotte-area location in Concord. The restaurant is currently drive-thru-only where you can order their scratch-made breakfast biscuits, coffee and pastries. The company plans to open additional locations in the area in the coming years.
Exposed Vegan
Neighborhood: West Charlotte
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; Closed Monday.
Co-owners Nikkis Campbell and Zsa-Zsa Porter are whipping up plant-based cuisine at their new restaurant, Exposed Vegan. The Black-owned business was formed during COVID-19 and hopes to educate the community on veganism and break free from stereotypes. We’re pretty pumped to get our hands on smoothies, bowls, soups, juices and yes, even cookies – and feel good about it, too.
Yum Yum Crumbs
Neighborhood: Online only
Hours: See delivery apps for availability
In a world where delivery is king, why not open a delivery-only dessert company? Yum Yum Crumbs concocts decadent cake cups and cake bombs and uses DoorDash and Uber Eats as couriers. Just plug your address in on either app to see if you are within range. If you’re so lucky, then order away (Yum Yum Pumpkin Peanut Butter Spice cup, anyone?)
