Neighborhood: Midtown
Celebrated Charlotte chef Greg Collier opened a new restaurant at The Metropolitan. The concept, which Colier owns with his wife, Subrina, features a menu of comforting dishes such as a fried chicken sandwich and oxtail meatloaf plus baked mac and cheese and candied sweet potatoes. The large space is ideal for private events and gatherings.
800° Woodfired Kitchen
Neighborhood: Uptown
Find the city’s second location for this concept in The Alley at Latta Arcade. The menu includes a variety of salads, sandwiches (during lunch hours) and entrées, plus woodfired pizza with toppings like burrata, prosciutto and barbecue chicken. The team plans to open a third location in South End later this year.
Alley 51
Area: Pineville
The new international food hall inside Pineville’s Super G Mart is full of mostly Asian cuisines, with more on the way. From desserts and cocktails to bao buns and noodles, guests will easily find something to love. Consider also stopping by Akihabari for games, an extension of Super Abari.
Calle Sol
Neighborhood: SouthPark
This Peruvian and Cuban restaurant now has a second home, located in the Apex development below Hyatt Centric. Guests can score weekday lunch specials and weekend brunch will be available soon. First timer? Try the ceviche to start and a Cubano sandwich as your main.
Foxcroft Wine Co.
Area: Huntersville
Local wine shop and restaurant Foxcroft Wine Co. now has five Charlotte-area locations thanks to the newest one at Birkdale Village. The team will offer a full lunch menu every day in addition to dinner service. Keep an eye on the website or Instagram for monthly wine dinners and event information.
Good Food by Food Geeks
Area: West Charlotte
Just inside the Goodwill Opportunity Campus, you’ll find an eatery serving Brooklyn-inspired comfort food such as smoked jerk chicken, smash burgers and fish tacos. Breakfast and brunch dishes are also available.
Halal Eats
Neighborhood: South End
Fill up on flavorful Uzbek-Tajik cuisine via pickup or delivery. Guests are encouraged to try the plov (savory beef or lamb pilaf) or the dumplings filled with lamb. Halal Eats is located inside South End Eats, a hub for local food concepts.
Kitchen + Kocktails
Neighborhood: Uptown
So begins the revitalization of Queen City Quarter, formerly known as the EpiCentre, with the opening of this restaurant. Feast on comforting dishes like shrimp and grits, Cajun crab cakes and fried pickles while enjoying craft cocktails and frozen drinks.
Lottie’s Cafe
Neighborhood: Uptown
Additionally, this chic coffee shop is now open right next to Kitchen + Kocktails. Stop by for your caffeine fix and either breakfast or lunch and be sure to browse the selection of snacks and merchandise. Feel free to post up and work remotely there, too.
Olde Mecklenburg Brewery
Neighborhood: Ballantyne
Charlotte’s oldest craft brewery now has a home at The Bowl at Ballantyne development, making it Ballantyne’s first brewery, too. This Olde Meck location serves lunch and dinner, and the giant space is available for private event bookings.
Roz Grill
Area: South Charlotte
Get a taste of the Mediterranean at this new restaurant at The Arboretum Shopping Center. From whipped feta and falafel bites to kebabs and Greek salad, the menu provides an array of flavorful favorites with a twist.
The Matador
Neighborhood: South End
Located in a restored 1958 fire house, this Mexican food concept offers a range of margaritas, tequilas and dishes, such as tacos, enchiladas and burritos. Enjoy happy hour specials twice a day, from 4-6 p.m. and 10 p.m.-close.
Yakitori Omakase
Area: South Charlotte
The latest by chef Robin Anthony and the Prime Fish team is a speakeasy-style yakitori concept, located inside Indonesian restaurant, Nusa. The experience is available to six guests at a time for a fixed price and includes a 12-course tasting menu. Seatings are available Wednesday-Sunday by reservation only.

CLT Airport Overlook

Experience unparalleled views of planes taking off and landing from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, located at 5130 Airport Overlook Drive. The area is complete with two playgrounds, restrooms and plenty of parking. Operators plan to host rotating food trucks here starting this summer.
