Mint Museum Uptown
The Mint Museum is a leading, innovative museum of international art and design committed to engaging and inspiring all members of the global community.
Update 2021: i had a greater experience as always and the staff is as friendly as always. Now theres security guards to make sure youre wearing a mask which is good and safe. Once again, i had a great experience. It has 5 floors and on Wednesday after 5pm all of them have free entrance which is amazing! The staff at the desk is very kind and friendly.
It's one of two exhibit locations of Mint museum in Charlotte ! The Museum in Uptown highlights more of contemporary arts and is housed in a larger space and in 4 floors. Variety of arts & displays from various artists - very impressive. EWS family gallery seems to be good but was temporarily closed ! Car parking is either on the streets - metered during weekdays or in a paid park house. You also don't want to miss the 1st & original Mint museum, still in the same location in Randolph St, portrays the ancient and medieval time arts. Very fine and very impressive collections. There's enough parking in this location.
What a wonderful museum! A perfect combination of recognizable, newer, and local artists, with a nice balance of medium. Make sure you eat beforehand, it's wild how quickly time passes! The COVID exhibit was eye opening. Would love to come back!
Jesus. Me and Menopause
As my family, and I approached the ticket desk, unfortunately didn't get the name of the woman who greeted us, but she was absolutely amazing! We can't wait until our next vacation to Charlotte, to do it all over again. What awesome experience!
The Mint Museum is the leader in the Charlotte metro area as far as fine arts. The museum and art gallery has a broad variety of pieces from contemporary artists and designers. The selections of sculptures and paintings are from many different artistic styles which makes the overall collection interesting to experience. The staff is very helpful and respectful and the facilities are clean and well maintained. I've been here a couple of times and would likely return at a future date. Also note the museum doesn't take terribly long view (I was able to finish the entire museum with 2 family members in about an hour and a half) since the art collections are currently on 2 floors only.
