Blacow Burger

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 4:30-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Craving sushi AND a burger? Well, of course you are! Blacow Burger opened four years ago in Fort Mill (burgers only) and now has a restaurant in South End. At the new location, you’ll find burgers with Asia-inspired flavors and plenty of sushi rolls to enjoy. Better add an order of Kimchi Fries, too.
Sandra Lee’s Country Kitchen

Neighborhood: Enderly Park
Hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Closed Monday.
Find comfort food on wheels at Charlotte’s newest food truck. Chef Willie Walters, who also runs a catering company, named the truck after his late mother who first taught him how to cook. Specialties include fried chicken, chicken bog and fresh-made biscuits. Add this kitchen-on-wheels to your list of Black-owned businesses to try.
Silverlake Ramen

Charlotte’s own Silverlake Ramen is finally open after the Concord shop opened its doors last fall. The L.A.-based restaurant serves ramen, rice bowls and appetizers with vegan and vegetarian options. Grab a seat on the patio and work on that Instagrammable noodle pull.
Snooze A.M. Eatery

Neighborhood: South End
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
The new Avenues at Atherton building is having a busy month! Next door to Silverlake Ramen is the city’s second Snooze A.M. Eatery. Fans of the Plaza Midwood location have gone crazy over the Pancake Flight, French Toast and the variety of eggs benedict options. Look out for Snooze to open October 28.
Southern Pecan
6705-C Phillips Place Ct.
Neighborhood: SouthPark
Hours: Daily, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
The former WP Kitchen spot is now occupied by Southern Pecan, a Southern and Gulf Coast-inspired restaurant by the owner of Café Monte and The Palm. Seafood lovers will enjoy checking out the Po Boys, Shrimp Boil and Roasted Stuff Flounder while meat-eaters may gravitate toward the Veal Rib Chop or Filet of Ribeye.
Your Mom’s Bazaar
107 N. Main St.
Area: Davidson, NC
Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m.
Courtney Buckley of Your Mom’s Donuts has started her newest venture in Davidson. The market offers produce, cheeses and meats plus baking staples and many products from local businesses. Freshly baked bread will be available daily, and those delicious doughnuts will be in shop Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The Design Center’s newest resident Lilbelle is owned by young entrepreneur Lily Sanford, who grew up working at her mom’s retail business. Shoppers will find women’s clothing and accessories inside and a gorgeous mural by Jen Hill out front.
PlantBar

Neighborhood: Dilworth
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Virginia-based PlantBar has opened its doors in Dilworth. Sip on a glass of beer, wine or a mimosa while you build your own terrarium. You may also browse the aisles for all kinds of greenery, planters and other accessories. Keep an eye out for other workshops to come.
