800° Woodfired Kitchen
Neighborhood: SouthPark
Hours: Sunday-Thursday, 5-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 5-11 p.m.
Phillips Place is now home to California-born 800° Woodfired Kitchen, where pizzas are cooked in a specialty rotating oven at 800 degrees. The menu also includes salads, entrees, sandwiches and appetizers like Truffle Fondue Fries and Woodfired Shrimp Scampi. The space also houses Bar ONE Lounge (Sunday-Thursday, 5 p.m.-midnight; Friday-Saturday, 5 p.m.-2 a.m.) where guests can sip on craft cocktails.
Big Ben Pub
Neighborhood: Elizabeth
Hours: Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Fans of this South End sports bar can now visit its new home in Elizabeth. Enjoy classic pub fare and and a mix of local and English beers while you watch your favorite soccer game. Get ready for this place to really pop when Charlotte FC, Charlotte’s MLS team, begins its inaugural season in 2022.
Bocado
Neighborhood: South End

Founded in Atlanta, Bocado offers a Southern-inspired menu with something for everyone. We have our eye on the Bocado Burger Stack with a house-made bun, American cheese and bread and butter pickles. The “Strong Drinks” section of the menu looks enticing, too...
Calle Sol Latin Café & Cevicheria
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
Hours: Open 4-9 p.m. daily.
Frank Scibelli’s done it again with his newest concept, which features Latin cuisine like ceviche, Cuban sandwiches and tropical cocktails. Whether you order Chaufa (stir-fried rice), Lomo Saltado or Shrimp Mojo, make sure you save room for the Guava Maria (cream cheese soft serve with Maria cookies and guava marmalade). Be on the lookout for lunch hours coming soon.
Clean Juice
Area: Huntersville, NC
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
The newest Clean Juice location at Birkdale Village is also now the franchise’s flagship location. Guests can get their juice and smoothie fix through a self-order kiosk, delivery apps or curbside pickup. Cruising around Charlotte? You’ll find other Clean Juice locations all over town.
Crav’n Caribbean
Area: Wesley Heights
Hours: Thursday-Friday, 12:30-6:30 p.m.; Saturday, noon-5 p.m.; Closed Sunday-Wednesday.
The West End City Kitch is home to several amazing ghost kitchens including its newest tenant, Crav’n Caribbean. Owner and chef Carlos Abrahams was born in Jamaica and is bringing the flavors of his childhood to Charlotte. Order your jerk chicken, oxtail and seven-cheese mac online and pick it up to go (or find them on delivery apps).
Jimmy P’s Street Shack

If you missed Jimmy Pearls’ occupancy at 7th Street Public Market, you’re in luck! Owners and chefs Oscar Johnson and DC Cooper can be found in their new food truck serving Uncle Gene’s Fish Sandwich and other dishes inspired by Tidewater, Virginia and the African Diaspora. Don’t miss those hand-cut fries, either.
Marble Slab Creamery

A local franchisee has opened a Marble Slab Creamery in the spot previously held by Nova’s Bakery on Central Avenue. Sharing the space is Great American Cookies, so get ready for all the sweets you can handle. May we recommend an ice cream cookie sandwich for the best of both worlds?
Mezeh

Chef Chris Coleman of The Goodyear House has co-opened this classic American restaurant to pay homage to “meat and three” plates using locally-sourced ingredients. Go big with The Rock Thrill: whipped pimento beer cheese, crispy onion, sorghum mustard BBQ, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle on a potato bun (with your choice of beef, chicken or Impossible Burger). Wow.
Popbar Food Truck

You love snacking on gelato pops from the NoDa or Camp North End locations. Now, you’ll find Popbar on wheels all over town! Expect to see this cute orange and pink truck at local events, or contact them to book for private parties.
The Jimmy

The old Nolen Kitchen spot is finally full again thanks to Jim Noble’s newest restaurant. Whisk away with dishes inspired by France and Italy including Neapolitan-style pizza, whole grilled fish and various handmade pastas. Stop by on weekday mornings for a breakfast menu featuring espresso and pastries from sister concept Copain Gatherings.
