Amélie’s French Bakery
Neighborhood: Uptown
Hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Closed Monday.
Close to three years after closing its doors, the Uptown location of popular French bakery Amélie’s is once again open. The large space includes ample seating, a private event and catering space, and all that eclectic furniture and artwork you’ve grown to love. Guests can enjoy an array of pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads from the menu, plus coffee, beer and wine.
Backyard Brew
Neighborhood: Dilworth
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m.-5 p.m.; Friday, 6 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The former Mayobird location is now open to a coffee shop serving handcrafted drinks and freshly roasted coffee. Guests can walk up to order or order ahead on their app or website. You’ll also find snacks on the menu – including Mayobird’s tasty chicken salad.
Club House Kitchen & Cocktails
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood

The team behind PARA has been busy opening their new concept in the former Lulu’s spot on Central Avenue. On the menu, you’ll find craft cocktails and dishes such as the Western Bacon Burger, Loaded Veggie Fries and chicken wings. Guests can also find the food menu available next door at Pinhouse.
Goldie’s
Neighborhood: LoSo
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 4 p.m.-midnight; Friday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m.; Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-2 a.m.; Sunday, 10:30 a.m.-midnight.
Enjoy live music, fun drinks and various food options at this new venue, bar and restaurant off South Boulevard. Hungry guests can choose from three food stalls – Goldie’s Kitchen for handhelds and shareables, Tina’s Pizza for pizza or Big Weiners for gourmet footlongs. Remember this pop-up bar at Plaza Midwood’s boutique hotel, Refuge? Now owners Larry Suggs and Andrew Schools have a permanent location with an expansive cocktail menu, indoor and outdoor seating, wine, beer and fancy bar snacks. The bar takes walk-ins only, and patrons must be at least 21 years old.
Monday Night Garden Co.
Neighborhood: South End

Say hello to this new brewery concept from Monday Night Brewing, originally from Atlanta, Georgia. The huge Charlotte location features a pool parlor, indoor lounge, outdoor space, 40 taps, a full cocktail menu and Neapolitan-style pizza. They’ll celebrate their grand opening on June 24 with local vendors, food trucks, live entertainment and more.
Sip City Market & Bottle Shop
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
Hours: Sunday-Thursday, noon-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, noon-midnight.
Stock up on your favorite beverages at this new bottle shop. The selection includes regional and local wine, beer, kombucha, energy drinks and sodas plus products like charcuterie boards, plants, cocktail mixers and decor. If you want to stay a while, grab a draft beer or glass of wine and enjoy a housemade bakery item.
Sycamore Brewing
Neighborhood: South End
Hours: 11 a.m.-midnight daily. (Café open Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m.)
The much-anticipated new Sycamore Brewing taproom is now open! This huge 21,000-square-foot space features two levels, tons of seating, a coffee shop, a full food menu, cocktails on tap and plenty of locally made beer. On the second floor, you’ll even find an Airstream food truck serving burgers and vegan options.
The Bevery
Neighborhood: Wesley Heights

Charlotte’s first seltzer brewery now has a new name! While the concept remains the same, you’ll now find expanded beverage options (including cocktails) plus a new food menu coming in July. Be on the lookout for their usual music lineup and local vendor pop-ups, too.
Vicente Bistro
Neighborhood: LoSo
Hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.; Closed Monday.
This Latin American bakery, named after a street in Buenos Aires, offers a bounty of housemade breads and pastries, like croissants, focaccia, muffins and cookies. On the weekends, you’ll find an even larger selection, including cinnamon rolls and basque cheesecake.

Adair
Neighborhood: South End

After closing due to new construction in South End, this local boutique now has a new home in the neighborhood. Adair offers women’s clothing, shoes, accessories and baby items. Fashionistas who can’t make it in-person can browse and purchase items online.
Girl Tribe Co.
Area: Huntersville
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, noon-6 p.m.
Taking the place of Huntersville’s Girl Supply after its closing, the new Girl Tribe Co. store is now open at Birkdale Village. This popular shop celebrates all things feminine, from Taylor Swift-themed gear to dresses, tops, accessories and jewelry. Find their other locations in South End and SouthPark.
Development
Independence Park
Neighborhood: Elizabeth
After many delays, the $5.9 million remodel of “Charlotte’s first public park” is almost complete. Upgrades include permanent restrooms, new playground equipment and a wider trail. The park is officially open, though some construction still continues (especially on the playgrounds).
The Revelry
Neighborhood: Camp North End
Best Impressions Caterers is behind one of the city’s newest and largest event venues. The Revelry, Camp North End’s first dedicated event space, can fit 250-1,800 people and includes lighting, a bar and kitchen and private rooms. Their team is now booking events for 2023 and beyond, so submit an inquiry on their website if interested.
