‘Tis the season to propose! December is the most popular month for engagements, so the holidays are a perfect time to drop to one knee. Here are some of the most romantic places in Charlotte to propose.
Assuming the answer is YES, we included some local wedding venue options to get your planning for the big day started. Cue the romance.
If you are looking for a park that offers a quiet, romantic setting, check out Freedom Park in between Charlotte’s historic Dilworth and Myers Park neighborhoods. Freedom Park has 98 acres and is considered the “Central Park” of Charlotte. Proposing with the sunset glistening over the 7-acre lake is picture-perfect.
ON A ROOFTOP
If views are your thing, head over to one of Charlotte’s rooftop bars. Fahrenheit has a 360-degree city view, linear fire pits and comfy chairs atop the 21st floor of Hyatt Place. Rooftop 210, City Lights Rooftop or Nuvole Rooftop TwentyTwo host more casual events all year ‘round. Fetch a cocktail for your love then return with a crowd of friends and the ring.
AT A STADIUM
If you and your significant other bond over cheering for your favorite sports team then consider proposing at a game. Bank of America Stadium will feature your proposal message on the 360-degree ribbon board, and Spectrum Center will share your ultimate Kiss Cam moment on their new massive scoreboard.
WITH LIVE MUSIC
There are plenty of concerts this holiday season. Check the event listings at popular concert venues like Blumenthal Performing Arts, The Fillmore, Ovens Auditorium and more. Then, ask the big question during one of your favorite songs or during the band’s most romantic ballad.
A BED & BREAKFAST
If you prefer a romantic getaway, check in at VanLandingham Estate or Moorehead Inn. Both are luxurious inns that embody Southern charm. You will feel like you are away from the real world without getting out of the city you love. Pop the question after you have had a good night’s rest and feel completely relaxed.
UNDER THE HOLIDAY LIGHTS
Take a stroll through the light display at Christmastown USA in McAdenville or explore a winter wonderland at Holidays at the Garden at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Stop for a photo opp on the bridge surrounded by lights. As the photographer counts to three, drop to one knee and capture the special moment.

IN A HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGE
Enjoy Charlotte’s beautiful skyline with Charlotte Center City Carriage Tours while cuddling under a blanket as you explore the streets of Uptown. Pass by parts of the city where you both made memories, and propose after you share dreams for the future.
WITH AN ART SCENE
Order something warm from the café, and take a tour through the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Make sure to give your docent a heads up that you’ll need to stop the tour to ask the big question. A photo next to the Firebird will enhance the gleam of the engagement ring.

If you want an exciting night filled with music, food and fireworks then check out CLT New Year’s Eve at Romare Bearden Park. What better way to ring in the New Year than with a beautiful ring on the hand of the one you love?
